A dry film lubricant is a functional coating made of solid lubricants such as molybdenum disulfide, graphite and PTFE, combined with special binders and dispersed in an organic solvent or water. After drying at room temperature or curing by heating, it forms a dry lubricating film. Commonly used solid lubricants include molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), graphite, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and boron nitride (BN).

Substrate: metal, plastic, rubber, etc.
1. Part selection — choose a dry film lubricant whose curing temperature does not affect the substrate properties.
2. Degreasing — remove oil and grease from the part surface to ensure coating adhesion and stability.
3. Surface pretreatment — pretreat the surface (phosphating, sandblasting, etc.) to increase adhesion.
4. Cleaning and drying — clean and dry the pretreated parts.
5. Preheating — for low-volatility dry film lubricants, preheat and rotate the parts before coating, referencing the solvent boiling point, to achieve a uniform film without dripping.
6. Coating — spraying, brushing or dip coating; rotate parts when needed for a uniform film.
7. Curing — room-temperature curing (standing after coating) or heat curing (heating to harden the film), selected according to the coating type.
8. Inspection — check film thickness, hardness, adhesion, lubricity, color and gloss.
Low friction coefficient, wear resistance, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance, oil resistance and solvent resistance.

| Water-based (eco-friendly) | WHM1 / WHM2 / WHM3 / WG8; WMPC12 / WPC12 / WCP12 / WP12 / WTP12 / WZP12; WM66 / WBM68; W61C / W6110 / W6120 / W6130 | MoS2 / graphite; PTFE / graphite; MoS2; MoS2 / graphite; PTFE / graphite | Conventional dry film lubricants are solvent-based and contain large amounts of harmful organic solvents, which endanger operators' health and evaporate into the atmosphere as VOCs, seriously polluting the environment. Zirun's water-based dry film lubricants consist mostly of water (80–90%), produce no harmful VOCs (VOC generation is about 5% of the solvent-based type), and greatly reduce adverse effects on the environment and operators' health. |
| Low friction, wear-resistant | HM1-20 / HM2-20 / HM3-25 / G8 and water-based WHM1-12 / WHM2-10 / WHM3-12 / WG8-10; MPC20 and water-based WMPC12; PC20 / CP20 and water-based WPC12 / WCP12; P20 / TP20 / ZP20 and water-based WP12 / WTP12 / WZP12 | MoS2 / graphite; MoS2; graphite / PTFE; PTFE | (1) Hard film: lubricating, wear-resistant, long-life, permanent lubrication. (2) Mainly solid lubricants based on PTFE and MoS2 with graphite and other solid lubricants added — the most important members of the dry film lubricant family. (3) Even better when used together with lubricating oil or grease; friction coefficient can be reduced to 0.03. |
| Anti-rust, corrosion-resistant | P20 / TP20 / ZP20 and water-based WP12 / WTP12 / WZP12 | PTFE | (1) Hard film, for places requiring both rust prevention and lubrication. (2) PTFE-containing films generally have stronger rust prevention than MoS2-containing films. |
| High and low temperature | M80 / M88 / M81; HM1-20 / HM2-20 / HM3-25 / G8 and water-based WHM1-12 / WHM2-10 / WHM3-12 / WG8-10; T770 / T71C / T710 / T720 / T730 / T750 | MoS2 / graphite; MoS2 / graphite / PTFE | (1) Ordinary oils and greases are generally not used above 200 C. Solid lubricants decompose at much higher temperatures (PTFE 300 C; MoS2 350 C; graphite 550 C; BN 900 C) and can be used continuously at 250–450 C and below –100 C. (2) This series uses special additives and can be used continuously at 250–450 C and below –100 C. |
| Running-in | M80 / M88 / M81 / BM58 / BM55; M6 and M5 series; T770 / T71C / T710 / T720 / T730 / T750; water-based W61C / W6110 / W6120 / W6130; water-based WM66; water-based WBM68 | MoS2 / graphite; MoS2; MoS2 / graphite / PTFE | (1) Soft film that wears within a short time so contact surfaces achieve effective contact and running-in. (2) Mainly high-concentration MoS2-based solid lubricants. (3) For large and heavy machinery and high-pressure sliding contacts. (4) Phosphating pretreatment of the workpiece gives a synergistic effect: load resistance and long life. |
| Easy coating (dip coating) | Water-based WM66 / WBM68 / W61C; BM58 / M610 / M560 / T7 series | MoS2 / graphite; MoS2 / graphite / PTFE | Dry film lubricants are generally applied by spraying or brushing. For large quantities of small parts that cannot be sprayed easily, dip coating provides a simple film and improves work efficiency. |
| For rubber and plastics | T71C / T770 / T710 / T720 / T730 / T750; water-based W61C / W6110 / W6120 / W6130 | MoS2; graphite / PTFE | The dry film must provide elasticity (stretchability), adhesion and long service life. |
| Stamping and forming | BM68 / M80 / M88 / M81 / M610 / M560; water-based WM66 / W61C / WBM68 | MoS2 / graphite | During stamping (cold pressing), the lubricating film must follow the deformation so that the film remains present on the deformed parts. |
| Aerosol type | M88sp / M81sp / M610sp / BN70-sp; P50sp / P52sp / P53sp | MoS2 / graphite; MoS2; BN; PTFE | Made into spray form for easy use and uniform film formation; can also penetrate into the gaps of parts. |

| Water-based cold galvanizing | WZ32 | 32% | Uses flake zinc powder instead of spherical zinc, greatly improving rust prevention (flake zinc powder has 2–3 times the corrosion resistance of spherical zinc). Can replace solvent-based cold galvanizing with Zn 96%. Being water-based and environmentally friendly, it reduces operators' organic solvent poisoning and VOC emissions. |
| Solvent-based cold galvanizing | ZR-Zn96 | 96% | Strongest corrosion resistance |
| Solvent-based cold galvanizing | ZR-Zn92 | 92% | Moderate corrosion resistance with a bright, sparkling color |
| Solvent-based cold galvanizing | ZR-Zn84 | 84% | Moderate corrosion resistance, bright white color, good cost performance |
